Privacy Policy

CrispVid ("we", "our", or "us") operates crispvid.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We are committed to handling your data — and especially your video content — with transparency and minimal retention.

1. Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture as provided by Google OAuth. This information is stored in our database to identify your account, display your profile, and send transactional emails (verification codes, receipts).

We do not use your account information for advertising, we do not sell it to third parties, and we do not share it with third parties except as required by law or to provide our service (see "Third Parties" below).

2. Video Data

CrispVid is designed to minimise the handling of your video content:

• —Video content is transferred to a secure, isolated processing environment for enhancement. It is not used for any purpose other than processing your submitted job.
• —Video content is not retained beyond a limited post-processing window. We do not operate a permanent archive of user video files.
• —We store job metadata — such as resolution, processing status, and timestamps — to maintain your account. We do not store the video content itself beyond the retention window.
• —We do not review or access the content of your video files as a matter of policy.

3. Usage Data

We collect job records including processing parameters (resolution, target quality, credits charged), timestamps, and completion status. This data is used to display your history, calculate credit balances, and investigate errors. It is retained for the lifetime of your account.

4. Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. CrispVid does not store card numbers, CVV codes, or any raw payment instrument data. We receive from Stripe a confirmation of successful payment, the purchase amount, and the package purchased. This is stored as a payment record to validate credit additions.

5. Cookies and Sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. It contains a session token (a random identifier) that references your session record in our database. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics scripts.

6. Third Parties

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics services.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained until you request deletion. Video frame data is automatically deleted after 7 days. Payment records are retained as required by applicable accounting law (typically 7 years).

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing hi@crispvid.com. We will make reasonable efforts to respond in a timely manner. Deletion requests will result in the removal of your account and associated data to the extent technically practicable; certain records may be retained where required by applicable law.

9. Children

CrispVid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
